Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month starts today! For all of October, individuals, families, Haemophilia Foundations and other organisations will come together to raise awareness about haemophilia, von Willebrand disease and other rare bleeding disorders around Australia. This year’s theme of ‘New Possibilities‘ encourages us to look at what’s next for our community.

BDAM FAQs
Can I host a BDAM event?
Yes! Anyone can host an event for BDAM. Whether it’s a morning tea at work or school, a pop-up stall selling red cupcakes or a community walk. For information on how to host an event and resources to help promote it, visit the BDAM Resources Page.
Can I still get promo items for my event?
Yes! We will continue posting out promotional items throughout October. This includes pens, balloons, posters, stickers, kids activity sheets and more. Order promotional items.
I would like to share my story during Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month – can you help?
Absolutely! Everyone has a story to tell – your experience of being diagnosed, or as a parent when your child was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder, what you’d like others to know about life with a bleeding disorder and some of the ups and downs, an inspiring personal story about travel, achievements, sport, school, work – the list goes on.
To share your story, simply email it to [email protected]. You can include your name with your story, or ask for it to remain anonymous.
I have so many more questions! Where do I start?
Take a look at our Host Kit for more tips and ideas, or reach out to us on [email protected] for assistance. Thank you so much for taking part in Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month.
